Being Lucifer’s daughter can be hell.

Hi, I’m Muriel, the only white sheep in a sea of black ones, and a virgin to boot. I am determined to wait for love, but my dad, more commonly known as Lucifer, just wants me to stop being an embarrassment. I’m hoping the hunk that I met in my bar will turn out to be the one–just looking at him makes my insides melt like marshmallows over the coals of hell, but trusting is hard when it seems everyone I get close to ends up trying to kill me.

Not only am I dealing with an extreme case of lust, there’s a new threat in hell, one my dad says to ignore. Something easier said than done since it seems everywhere I turn demons are trying to kill me. But I’m okay with that, because one thing I’ve learned being a princess of hell is that sometimes I have to grab a demon by the horns and slap it around a bit.

A rebellion in hell, demon assassins and scorching kisses, could my life get any more interesting?

As you can see from the title of the book, Muriel is the daughter of Satan. He has lots of kids, but Muriel is the only one that hasn't sinned. She is still a virgin and Satan isn't too happy about this. He wishes Muriel could be more like her half-sisters who are Succubi. Muriel on the other hand wants to wait and be in love when she does the deed. I loved that Muriel didn't give into the pressure from her father and sisters. She's different from them and very strong willed. She has to be with so many after having so many threats to her life. Muriel owns her own bar that is called Nexus and it's a place where all the supernatural beings come to hang out. In fact, Muriel wants to add a karaoke machine to her bar one day. I loved this part of the book because you get the opportunity to read about some very interesting beings. There are elves, dryads, gnomes, and a wood nymph maid that likes to sink her roots in the park. My favorite character in the book was Charon. He likes to hang around Muriel's bar before it opens and have a drink. Just because he's around death all the time doesn't me he can't have a good time! With Satan being his best friend, he is very close to Muriel. I loved this convo between Muriel and Charon:

"Don't you have to ferry people across the river?" I asked my most faithful client. A long standing joke between us.

"I'm thirsty," he said. "Besides, they're dead, they can wait. After all, they have all of eternity left." Charon chuckled evilly.

We also get to meet Auric who walks into Muriel's bar with his friends one night. He's a mysterious character that is very attractive and Muriel notices this as soon as he walks through the door. He's there to see the owner of the bar and Muriel plays the role of bartender. After all, her life is threatened all the time and she has to be careful. We get to learn more about Auric and his friends as he and Muriel get closer.

I loved Lucifer's Daughter! So I'm giving it *5* Bells!

This book has it all! Romance, action, and lots of comedy. Because I laughed out loud so many times while reading this book, I received lots of nasty glares from my family. I think that I am going to enjoy the other works of this author and hope they make me laugh just as much as Lucifer's Daughter did. I'll have to make sure I laugh even louder next time. What can I say, I like to torture my family. I have a feeling Lucifer himself would think that would be a good idea. ;)

There will be a Q&A with Eve Langlais on the blog tomorrow and she is going to give away a copy of her newest ebook Wickest Witch! I hope you can stop by!

  5. I love the ones that make you laugh out loud and make your family look at you sideways. Hubs does that to me all the time when I laugh, or scream, or have to take multiple cold showers in a short period of time;) Nice review Bells, I'll be looking into this one!
