I am so happy to have the wonderful Eve Langlais on Hanging With Bells!
Why don't we start off by you telling us a little bit about yourself.
Me?! I fear I'm not that interesting. I am a thirty seven year old mother of three who has been married now over eleven years. I am Canadian and live in suburbia outside of Toronto, Ontario. See pretty boring, but my stories I guarantee are anything but. :)
I have read your book Lucifer's Daughter and loved it! (My review is here.) How did you come up with the idea for this book?
The idea for Lucifer's Daughter started with the premise of wouldn't it be funny if Satan's own daughter, wasn't quite as evil as she should be. Thus was Muriel born; a girly-girl who by nature of her birth had to know how to kick ass, but who really just wanted to live a normal life--and of course meet 'the one'. Like any daughter, loves to drive her dad mental by disobeying him at every turn, of course in her case she did it by getting straight A's and refusing to give up her virginity until she fell in love.
Lucifer aka The Devil, can be one scary dude. I love that you've made his character very paternal despite what he is. Was this a challenge for you at any time?
LOL, no actually. Having a character like Lucifer, with his own set of morale's, was quite refreshing. I worked with the premise that even the most evil of people(or beings) love their children. And, I'll admit, making Lucifer into a busy body where his daughter was concerned made me giggle.
I've been checking out the books you have written on your site and they all look so interesting. Which book did you enjoy writing the most?
Lucifer's Daughter is one of my favorites because the world building and characters were so much fun to create. Wickedest Witch is a close follower though simply because I loved the fact that an evil heroine fell in love when she least expected it. I admit, I find it quite liberating to write about characters who dip their toes (and sometimes their whole bodies) over the line that separates good from evil. And I can tell you from writing their tales, bad girls do have more fun. ;)
So I already know which book that I am going to read next! The Alien Mate series!
How many books do you have planned for this series?
Currently my popular Alien Mate series is sitting at three, with Alien Mate 3--where geeky meets hunky--having been recently contracted by Amira Press . I'm not sure if there'll be a forth, the third kind of took me by surprise when it popped it my head. I guess we'll have to wait and see... :)
Are you a fan of any particular author and are you reading anything interesting right now?
I love books and am always reading. Right now, I'm dipping out of the paranormal romance for a bit to concentrate on finishing reading the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. But I fear I will probably stray as I can't resist a romance where the alpha male gets his woman. Sigh...
(I love that too Eve!)
What do you have planned for future releases? Please tell me that there will be more books planned after Lucifer's Daughter?! I loved all the characters especially Satan and Charon! (chuckling)
I'm always working on new stuff, my brain just can't sit still. I've recently finished two pieces that I am waiting to hear back on. One is called Cleopatra's Men--One former Egyptian Queen plus two vamps equals a romance with bite. The other is called Date With Death--She never expected to fall in love with Death. As for Lucifer's Daughter, the next book in her story, titled Snowballs in Hell, should be released within the next few months with Liquid Silver. As the title suggests, Hell will freeze over and it turns out this is a very bad thing for humankind (you can take a peek at the cover and blurb on my site). After book two, there is a third planned where we might finally discover who Muriel mother's is and also who's behind the attempts to screw with Hell. I can't wait to find out. :)
I cannot wait to read more of Eve's books. Especially Snowballs in Hell! It sounds like it's going to be lots of fun! A big thanks to Eve for answering my questions!
Giveaway!
Eve is graciously giving away an ebook of her new book Wickedest Witch to one of my lucky followers!
Here is what the book is about!
Evangaline is not a very nice witch, but ask her if she cares. She does however have a healthy sexual appetite, and when an uncouth shifter starts appearing in her fantasies, it's not long before she makes her erotic mind play a reality. But everyone knows a wicked witch can't fall in love, or can she?
Ryker, a hot and muscled shifter, knows his size and domineering presence intimidates women, all except for one curvy witch he just can't get out of his mind. Set to a task only the two of them can accomplish, he discovers wickedness has its uses, especially in the bedroom.
Dealing with vamps, a wedding from hell and a cackling gnome named Rumpelstiltskin, will these two wicked beings survive and, even more disturbing, decide to stay together?

ReplyDeleteAs far as a supernatural being I haven't read about ... Hmmm that hard I mean there's almost a book for every kind of being there is we'll have to be creative and invent something new ;)
Thanks for the review and giveaway!

Great answers. I can't even think of a creature I haven't read about lol.
ReplyDeleteOh these books sound so good!
ReplyDeleteI must admit that I haven't heard of The Devil's Daughter or Wickedest Witch before, but so much the better, because I am always up for new things! XD
Thanks so much for the chance to read this.
I'm not sure if there's a creature I haven't read about before, but maybe elves? I known there's Lord of The Rings, but that was mostly about the journey and not really dealing with the elves as a species!:P

Well lets see....I have only read one book on Fae so I'm thinking I need to get ahold of some more. I have yet to read a book on a Fallen Angle, Witch or Alien sounds fun. Does Alien even fit in paranormal? There are so many Vampires and Shifter books out right now I'm kind of overwhelmed and I need to broaden my horizons :)

Jolene - Yes Alien does fall into paranormal. :)
ReplyDeleteI used to answer gargoyles to this, but even those are starting to be featured in paranormals. Maybe trolls, or goblins? I don't know, they are pretty fierce. Eve's books sound great. I'll be adding them to my wishlist.

ReplyDeleteI would love to read more about djinn or genies (good or bad). Even though they are a type of demon in some cases they have their own unique features like succubi and incubi.
Thanks for the giveaway!
