Quick Review: Pleasure of a Dark Prince
Pleasure of a Dark Prince is written by Kresley Cole and is the 9th story in the Immortals After Dark Series. It's about Garreth MacRieve, Dark Prince of the Lykae who realizes one day that his mate for life is Lucia the Huntress, a Valkyrie who is not only the world's most skilled archeress but enemy to the Lykae. Lucia, on the other hand, wants nothing to do with Garreth. She is on a mission to destroy someone from her past and doesn't have time to be courted by Garreth. She let's him know this by flinging several arrows into him and running away. Garreth is up for the chase and follows her for an entire year to claim her as his own. When he finally catches up to her, Lucia has no choice but to deal with Garreth and let him know what she is up to. However, she does have a few secrets of her own that chooses not to share with him.
This story has it all! Action, suspense, comedy, mystery, and passion. Once you start reading it you don't want to stop! The story is filled with great supporting characters and exotic locations. I loved that Lucia was a strong female lead and Garreth would do anything to be with her. I also loved his Scottish accent and would find myself saying his words out loud so that I could imagine what it sounded like. You can just feel the attraction and excitement between Garreth and Lucia throughout the book. They have the odds stacked against them but you find yourself rooting for them in the hopes that they can be together.
I am giving Pleasure of a Dark Prince *4* Bells for being such a wonderful story!
I would recommend you start at the beginning of the series in order to have a better understanding of some of the characters and storyline. You will also enjoy all the different types of supernatural beings. Here is a link to Kresley Cole's site so you can read more about this wonderful series: http://kresleycole.com/
The next book for this series is Demon from the Dark. It will be released August 31, 2010. Just one more book to be added to my "Can't wait to read pile".
