My favorite day is Tuesday!

As everyone knows Tuesday is new release day. That is why it is my favorite day of the week! I will be doing a weekly post on Tuesday listing my favorite new releases in books, music and movies. Here is my list for February 9, 2010:

Books

First up is the first book of a new series by Jeanine Frost. First Drop of Crimson is book 1 in the Night Huntress World series. It is about Spade, a vampire that must protect a human named Denise from a demon shapeshifter that has marked her as prey. Denise is the best friend of Cat who we all know from Frost's Night Huntress books. If you have not read any of these books you need to run to the bookstore and snatch them up because they are wonderful! I will be getting my copy of First Drop of Crimson on Tuesday before the next storm rolls into town! I've been waiting for this book and can't wait to read it!

The next book is Embrace the Night Eternal by Joss Ware. It is the 2nd book in the Awakening Heroes Series about a group of men that went exploring in a cave and were knocked unconscious. They awaken 50 years later unaged and discover that 2 of them have unexplained gifts and that the world is a different place. You definitely want to pick up book 1 of this series Beyond the Night to get a better understanding of what is going on.

And last but not least is This Side of Heaven by Fallon Blake. It is about a half demon/half angel that must protect a human. The book includes forbidden love, an ancient prophecy, and demons on the hunt. I will be picking up this book not only because it sounds like a great read, but I want to support Fallon who is an awesome person and a Dean lover!! Fallon (@FallonBlake)is also on twitter at: http://twitter.com/FallonBlake You can purchase the ebook here: http://www.loose-id.com/This-Side-of-Heaven.aspx

Music

Sade is back with a new album titled Soldier of Love. I have been a big fan of hers since my childhood and I love it that she can put out an album whenever she wants to and has a loyal fanbase. The first single off the album, Soldier of Love, is a little different that what you are used to hearing from Sade. The video for this song is so visually stunning!

Movies

I didn't get a chance to see Couples Retreat when it was in the theaters, so I am so excited that it is finally out on DVD. It stars Vince Vaughn, Jon Favreau, and my very first Hump Day Hottie Jason Bateman. The movie is about a couple that is trying to save their marriage. They decide to go to therapy and they invite 3 couples to come with them to a resort. It looks really funny and I can't wait to see it!

The Time Travelers Wife is about a a Chicago librarian with a genetic disorder causing him to travel through time involuntarily. It starts Rachael McAdams, I love her, and Eric Bana. I seriously need to have him as one of my Hump Day Hotties. It's based on the book with the same title. I started the book a couple of years ago but never finished it. I was too lazy and the character popping in and out of different time periods kinda confused me. I'm lazy. So I will be renting this movie.

The Stepfather is another movie that I will be renting. It stars the very sexy Dylan Walsh from Nip/Tuck as a total psycho that terrorizes his family. I'm probably only seeing it because he is in it. And I want to see what really happens.

So there are my picks for the new releases today. What are going to pick up today?

  5. I love Tuesdays for a different reason... LOST is on and it's NEW!! I have to say that my February Book release was Archangel's Kiss, which was released last week. I'm interested in the Night Huntress Series, but haven't started yet. I don't really follow music or movies anymore. With that said, this morning I saw the trailer for TTW on On Demand and just seeing the trailer made me weep all over again. That book was just too damn sad and I hate that! I get too emotionally involved in books and it was a tough one. Life needs to be lighter! I hope you enjoy it. I won't watch it. The book was more than enough!

  11. ive also been a big Sade fan for a while, i rarely meet others! *embarrassing confession time* i actually used to play one of the albums for "romantic mood music" for my college boyfriend (now hubby), i don't know if he appreciated it, but i loved it! "By Your Side" was also played in a sweet scene in Sex and the City one time too, it was perfect.

  12. I love Sade, too! Although I admit I probably haven't bought an album of hers in years. What a gorgeous album cover. I should check it out. Thanks for the heads up.

Lusty Reader, we must be close to the same age. Sade used to be my "romantic mood" artist when I was in college, too. LOL!
