It Sucks To Be Her…

Living as a succubus has a bit of a learning curve, but with sexy fallen angel Noah to scratch her sensual Itch, Jackie Brighton is finally starting to feel ahead of the game. She almost doesn’t miss her gorgeous vampire master Zane – or his sinful, teasing mouth. She’s trying to convince herself of that, anyway.

But Jackie’s past mistakes catch up with her, spinning her life out of control once more. Just as her friend Remy’s inner demon comes out to play, Noah and Jackie are arrested by the angelic Serim Council. When Jackie seizes the chance to escape, she falls right into Zane’s waiting arms. As she’s pulled into a game of cat and mouse between vampires and angels, she finds she must also finally choose between the two men in her life. Can she decide between Noah and Zane, or will she lose everything she’s ever wanted? Because there’s more at stake than just her heart…

(summary from author's website)

My Fair Succubi is book 3 in The Succubus Diaries series and once again we get to see Jackie in the middle of a big mess that she must find her way out of. This book is also a tug of war of sorts on her heart as Jackie is also thrown into the middle of Noah vs. Vane. We know that this moment was coming as it has been building in the past 2 books of the series. Jackie has a decision to make and it's not an easy one because she must choose between a hot angel that loves her (Noah) and an as equally hot vampire that loves her (Zane). You'll have to read the book to see who she chooses, but I really felt sorry for Jackie because they are both incredible men that would do anything for her.

The great thing about My Fair Succubi that I loved was that it was a fast read. The storyline flowed very well and I found myself quickly at the end of the book. The problem that I had with the book is that halfway through the book I found myself starting to not care about the storyline anymore. I kind of can't put my finger on what the real problem was. It wasn't the writing because I thought that was well done. There were lots of great lines in this book and I found Jackie's character to be a lot funnier that in the previous books. I also felt that Jackie did not irritate me as much as she did and was able to tolerate her character a lot better. I do have to say the book picked back up for me once Jackie's BFF Remy was back on the page. I love her character and found that she added life to the pages.

There are lots of new characters in the book as well. There are lots of Serim that exist and one very sexy Archangel by the name of Gabriel. I hope the author plans on having him in future books. Jackie finds a protector in a character by the name of Ethan who I found to be a welcome addition to the series. He had lots of funny lines and was very cute at times. I hope we get more of Ethan in the future as well.

I'm giving My Fair Succubi *3* Bells!

Jill Myles has done a great job of getting me invested in her characters. They all have their part to play, and this is what I like about this series. I'm still on the fence when it comes to choosing Team Noah vs. Team Zane because they both have qualities that I love! Although I find myself more on Team Zane after reading the book.

I'm curious to see what will happen in the next book because it seems like there is going to be lots of trouble involved. Trouble just seems to like Jackie, and it seems as if she is going to have her hands full once again!

  1. Great review and I totally agree! I did like the introduction of new characters and the book did pick up when they found Remy. I love her. She needs her own series!

  4. I told you I would be back! ;p

I thought the action in this one and the pacing was the best out of the three. I don't know...it is probably my favorite out of the series.

Love how it ends too :)
