It's been five months since marketing manager Katherine "Kitty" Katt started working with the aliens from Alpha Centauri, and she and Jeff Martini are getting closer. But when an experimental spacecraft is mysteriously returned to the Kennedy Space Center, Kitty and the rest of her team are called in to investigate. Now the team must survive murderous attacks, remove a space entity from a group of astronauts, and avoid an unhinged woman with a serious crush on Kitty's high school boyfriend. And that's all before evil masterminds decide Kitty's extermination is vital.

Kitty and the gang are back in Alien Tango and they have their work cut out for them! Book 2 of the series is chock full of action, comedy, and drama. Kitty is now in charge of the newly formed Airman Division and the entire team is called to Florida to investigate some strange happenings at the Kennedy Space Center. Before they can even get there, their lives are threatened and we get to see them work together as a team. We get to see lots of interaction between Kitty and the rest of the crew and I have to say their teamwork is some of the funniest moments of the book. I could not stop laughing while reading Alien Tango. Gini has an awesome way of intertwining her comedy throughout the storyline that allows you to get a feel of each character's personality.
Now it's time to talk Martini, my favorite character of the series. O.M.G!! I didn't think it was possible for me to fall even more in love with him but I did! Martini is one sexy alien and I'm not ashamed to say it! Just the mere mention of him calling Kitty "Baby" had me drooling. Here is an example:
"Good." Martini locked the door and also hooked our suitcases and my purse under the handle. Then he turned around, a very sexy half-smile on his face. He unbuttoned his jacket, his eyes smoldering. Just looking at him made my breathing get heavy. "C'mere, baby."
Do you see what I mean?! He really brings the heat in this book and that Kitty is one lucky woman. She can't help but drool herself while looking and thinking about him, even while she is in the middle of danger. LOL!
Kitty and Martini's relationship has also grown from the first book of the series Touched By An Alien. I found myself tearing up many times while reading Martini's declaration of love to Kitty. They both truly understand each other and that makes their relationship stronger. One of my favorite parts of the book is when Kitty meets Martini's parents for the first time. She knew it wasn't going to be an easy task, but she is willing to do anything for her man. I love how Kitty speaks her mind and let's those around her know that she is her own woman and is capable for thinking for herself. The family "reunion" scene has it's hilarious moments as well as those that touched my heart. We get to see Martini's interaction with his family and we can finally see why he does not enjoy being around them. It takes a strong woman like Kitty to let the family know that not everyone likes meatloaf (she seriously does) and that people cannot help who they are whether they are human or alien. Martini is her man and she let's them see that she is capable of taking care of him and loves him for the man that he is! I have a newfound appreciation for Kitty and love that she is such a strong heroine. She is on the Kick Ass Heroine list for sure!
I'm giving Alien Tango *5* Bells!
I would give this book 10 Bells if I could! That is how much I loved it! Hey you know what? It's my blog and I can do whatever I want, so it gets *5* more Bells for it's awesomeness:There that feels better! It quickly became one of my favorite reads of the year! I looked and sounded like a demented Hyena as I was reading this book. Gini has done it again! If you haven't read Touched By An Alien, read it now so you will be ready to read this excellent book when it's released!
There are so many awesome characters in this book that you will love! Reader saying "girlfriend" to Kitty has me cracking up every time. I <3 him! Alligators! Aerosmith! Well not really. But their concert T-shirts and music show up throughout the book that they should be considered one. Old friends and new friends. Family that was once held at arms length is welcomed back with open arms. I felt the entire emotional spectrum as I read this book and I think I might have weirded my family out as I was reading it. (Hey what else is new!) I'm not ashamed of a good book making me cry or laugh out loud so I say bring on Book 3 of the series Alien In The Family so I can experience all these feelings again.
Make sure you come back on December 14th to read my newest interview with Gini and some of her wonderful characters! We're going to have so much fun, and I can't wait to drool over Martini again! There will also be a giveaway!
I want to read it now!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo I have a confession, I've seen some great reviews of this seris but I can't get past the "alien" bit. Which is weird b/c I love movies w/ aliens like the Alien franchise and Predator. But something about this doesn't appeal... even with the rave reviews. I think I'm just being biased and hardheaded. :(
ReplyDeleteOk I lied!! I did a quick scan and saw 10 FRIGGIN BELLS!!! GIMMMIEEEEE!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMollie - Well I hope this helps. Most of the aliens in this series are drop dead gorgeous and wear Armani suits. lol I hope you try the series out on day cause it's a great one. :D
