Wicked Enchantment is a story by Anya Bast and is the 1st book in the Dark Magick Series. It is about 2 groups of Fae, The Seelie, and the Unseelie, that live in a city by the name of Piefferburg. The Seelie court lives in the Rose Tower and believes their magick to be light and pretty while The Unseelie live in the Black tower and their magick is believed to be dark. The main characters of this story are from each of these towers. Aislinn Finvarra is a favorite of the Summer Queen who resides in the Rose Tower. She is asked one day by the Summer Queen to be a guide to Gabriel Mac Braire who wants to leave the Black Tower and become a resident of the Rose Tower. Aislinn has just had her heart broken by her boyfriend and is very weary of men right now, particularly Gabriel who is half incubus Fae. She feels an attraction to him right away and is afraid to give into her feelings because she does not want her heart broken again. Gabriel on the other hand wants to use his gift and seduce Aislinn.I could not get enough of Gabriel in this book! Everything about him screams BOOK BOYFRIEND to me. He will be going on my list to the right. He is mysterious and secretive. He says and does all the right things. He believes in Aislinn and helps her learn that she is more than what she thinks she is. She begins to believe him and gains confidence in herself and her magick abilities.
There are too many wonderful, juicy secrets in this book and I am not going to give away anything. This book grabbed me from page one and did not want to let me go. I haven't read a lot of books that did that to me, so I am so excited about this book!

This book has action, suspense, drama, mystery, and romance! It is such a good read. Book 2 of the series, Cruel Enchantment, has a release September 7, 2010. I for one can't wait to read it.

Don't forget to read the "start" of the series (or prequel) titled "Sweet Enchantment" found in the anthology Hot for the Holidays. It gives great background info and tells the story of Aislinn's friends Bella and Rowan. It is a MUST read for lovers of this series. (And Hot for the Holidays is a GREAT book in and of itself!)
