Resolved: More or
less, anyway
It’s another new year, and I’m looking forward to a great
one. I hope you are, too!
Thanks so much to Hanging With Bells for hosting me for the
first stop in 2013 on my Release Me
blog tour. I feel as though I’m kicking
off the new year right with a brand new book—and I’m psyched that the advance
buzz has been so positive!
But a new year brings new musings, and I thought it would be
appropriate to set out some of my plans for the new year. I’m not going to call them resolutions
because that seems so iron clad (anyone else a fan of National Treasure? If you are, I bet you got that reference!)
In no particular order, here are the things I’m planning for
myself in the new year:
Have more adventures –
I’m always sending my characters on adventures and challenging them. But darn it, I want an adventure, too! In 2013, somehow, someway, I’m finding an
adventure (even if I only find it in my own backyard).
Read more books –
The downside of being a writer (and a homeschooling mom) is that I have less
time to actually kick back and read. I
do read some every day, and I’m constantly plugged into an audiobook when I do
chores, but there are so many books out there that I haven’t had time for … and
I feel like I’m missing out. This is my
year to make a dent in the TBR pile!
Play more – The
downside of working at home is that you’re always at work, and so it’s very
easy to fall into a pattern of telling the kids you’ll play Clue or Monopoly or
whatever later, but right then you’re working.
Bad habit. Because they keep
getting older and The Cat’s In The Cradle
is playing in my head!
Fold laundry more
frequently – Okay, truth time. I
don’t care that much about that one. But
my unfolded laundry is staring me in the face, and I felt like as a responsible
consumer/homeowner/mom I should write it down.
The trouble with laundry and dishes and housecleaning is that it is
NEVER done. What I really want is Alice
from The Brady Bunch to move in.
Hang out with my
friends more – I love just chilling with my friends, but they’re spread far
and wide. I’m resolving to do more
hanging out, even if it’s just via phone.
I love my buds and want to stay in each others’ lives!
How about you? What are your resolutions? (And if you’re looking to read more books
like me, perhaps you should start with Release
Me :D )

He was the one man I couldn’t avoid. And the one man I couldn’t resist.
Damien Stark could have his way with any woman. He was sexy, confident, and commanding: Anything he wanted, he got. And what he wanted was me.
Our attraction was unmistakable, almost beyond control, but as much as I ached to be his, I feared the pressures of his demands. Submitting to Damien meant I had to bare the darkest truth about my past—and risk breaking us apart.
But Damien was haunted, too. And as our passion came to obsess us both, his secrets threatened to destroy him—and us—forever.
