Sarah Ward, the werewolf sister of Bathsheba from Beauty Dates the Beast, and co-owner of their paranormal online dating agency, Midnight Liaisons, is voluntarily traded to a wolf clan in exchange for a kidnapped female were-cougar. Fearful of what might happen to her while with the wolf clan, she and Ramsey, a were-bear who’s part of the were-cougar alliance, pretend to be engaged so he can stay with her for protection. The last thing either of them expect is for their pretend engagement to lead to a very real love affair….
In book 1 of the series with the help of her sister, Sarah Ward did her best to hide the fact that she was a werewolf. However one of the local wolf clans discovered her existence and wants her to join their clan. There is a shortage of females and they feel that she would be a great addition but in all honesty their kind of scary. She does need their help however to learn how to shift properly so that she doesn't hurt herself. In order to insure her safety, a were-bear by the name of Ramsey comes forth and claims her as his mate. With Ramsey by her side Sarah agrees to allow the wolf clan to help her and will decide at a later date to join their clan. This would be a great thing for the group of paranormals that have formed an alliance that want to bring the wolf pack into their fold.
They have to live together to give the impression that they are together and it takes some getting used to at first. Because he is also a shifter, Ramsey is able to help Sarah learn how to make her shifting less painful. If she continues to shift as she does she will die. So Ramsey is very patient in helping her understand the dynamics to it. She is soon able to shift more smoothly and understand more about being a werewolf. After being turned, she had no one to turn to for help and Ramsey becomes a great teacher for her. As Sarah and Ramsey spend more time together and get to know one another better, they begin to find themselves more and more attracted to one another. When their relationship becomes more intimate, Sarah realizes that Ramsey is shy and inexperienced. It's now her turn to become the teacher and Ramsey learn that it's okay to let his inhibitions go. Ramsey is very protective of Sarah and she soon realizes that he's been there for her whenever she has needed him. He hasn't asked for anything in return and this makes her love him even more. He's really a great character and I really enjoyed getting to know more about him.
