Eve of Samhain may be Lisa Sanchez's first novel, but it sure doesn't read that way. The story centers around Ryann and her growing attraction to a complete stranger, a hunky stranger that makes her feel desire from the top of her head to the bottom of her feet.

Ryann is a college student that works at a local club as a waitress to pay the bills. One night while working a man comes in and Ryann takes one look at him and likes what she sees. That is until he opens his mouth and says lots of naughty things to her. Quinn is that man and he does not censor the things coming out of his mouth. He says what is on his mind and doesn't care who hears it. He also does all of this with an Irish accent which I loved. This undeniable attraction makes Ryann want to rub up and down him like a cat. Let's just say that her body responds to him when he is around. She can't seem to understand why she feels that way when Quinn is around. Ryann us not the only feels that seems to feel this way. All women in Quinn's path want him, and he knows it. Now there's a reason why, but I'm not going to tell you. You have to read the book in order to find out! Yeah I'm no fun I know.

I also loved that I got to learn some great Irish sayings. Now I don't think I'll ever use them or visit Ireland to practice them, but it was still fun. There are mystical creatures in the book that I thought were fun to learn about as well. And yes leprechauns do exist. They don't seem to be like the freak on the front of that box of cereal thank goodness. My sincere apologies to any Lucky lovers out there. He totally freaks me out!

Ryann soon starts to have weird dreams and feels as if someone or something is following her. Quinn ends up being her personal bodyguard after he sees what is after her. Yup, damsel in distress with a hot fine man to protect her. Ryann thinks she can take care of herself and is not to happy with Quinn wanting to protect her all the time. So she begins to venture out on her own and sure enough trouble follows her. She is one lucky woman because Quinn manages to magically show up wherever she is. Ryann finally gives in and allows Quinn to protect her and she begins to look forward to being around him. She still can't control how she feels about him. And it also seems that Quinn has feeling for her as well. This is when Quinn starts to say sweet Irish sayings to her and I loved it. I'm thinking about having my husband read them and try to say them to me. It's so romantic and soon you find yourself rooting for Ryann and Quinn. The two of them can feel the connection that they have and that leads to obvious sexual tension. But they can't act on that tension. I would love to tell you why, but I don't want to ruin the book for you. There are lot of secrets that are revealed in the book and you'll learn why Ryann and Quinn cannot give in to their desires. It's almost heartbreaking that they can't get close. Both of the characters feel agony and you can feel their frustration.

I really enjoyed Eve of Samhain and am giving it 4 Bells!
