As I get ready to decorate my house for the holidays, I keep wondering if we should retire the ten-year-old fake tree with weirdly bent branches and get a new fake tree, one that’s pre-lit. The thought of not stringing all those lights sounds heavenly!
After sending my husband out to the garage to bring in all those boxes of decorations, I’ll go through everything and decide what I’m going to use—much like Charlotte did in the Sweetblood short story Enchanted By Blood, in the anthology A VAMPIRE FOR CHRISTMAS.
As the owner of an interior decorating/event planning business, Charlotte Grant specializes in holiday parties. Christmas is a special time of year for her, not only because of the type of work she does, but she loves the glitter, the glamour, and the tradition of the holiday season.
But she yearns for someone special to share it with: Someone to meander through Seattle’s eclectic neighborhoods with her and window shop. Someone who enjoys the same things she does—sushi, old Aerosmith tunes, watching golf on TV even though she doesn’t play. Someone whose family would welcome her in, since she misses hers terribly.
One evening early in the holiday season, after being ditched by a friend, everything changes for Charlotte when a handsome, well-dressed stranger steps into her path.
Former Guardian Trace Westfalen is set to take over his father’s seat on the Governing Council, but he won’t be voted in if he’s in a relationship with a human.
Charlotte feels an odd connection to the man who hired her to decorate his home for a big holiday party, but she’s never met him before…or has she?
As the holidays approach and danger closes in, Trace has a difficult decision to make. Does he follow his duty and let Charlotte go or does he follow his heart and risk losing everything…including the woman he loves?
I’m giving away a copy of A VAMPIRE FOR CHRISTMAS to a random commenter who tells me what their favorite holiday decoration is.
Happy holidays, everyone! And happy decorating!
All they want for Christmas is you…
It's the time of year for twinkling lights on trees and kisses under the mistletoe. Yet the passing of another year means nothing to the stunning immortals who lurk in the shadows of the new-fallen snow.
And they don't care if you've been naughty or nice.
Let four fanged lovers open your eyes to a passion you never dared to imagine. After all, there's no place like home for the holidays—and these dazzling vampires can't wait for an invitation.
Giveaway open to US/Can only. Please leave an email with your comment if you want to enter. Giveaway ends 12/12/11 at 12 PM EST.

I drool at the stores every time that I see any type of Santa Doll or Nutcracker Doll. I could have a houseful of different types and never get tired of them. Oh and and and.....I collect teddy bears so any type of plush teddy bear or teddy bear statue dressed up in Xmas garb is great.

Hi Chandra! I LOVE nutcrackers too. Did you happen to see the cute, slightly twisted ones that Target had over Halloween? I bought boy and girl vampire nutcrackers that I think I might leave up for Christmas too. They're too cute to put away.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite decoration is this Christmas village my grandmother made me. Each building has a music box inside that plays a different Christmas Carol. Thanks.

My favorite decoration is the small resin santa my sister in law gave me. It's white and gold and sparkles. It's just oo cute.

ReplyDeleteHi Laurie! The anthology sounds awesome.
ReplyDeleteI love Gingerbread men and houses for decorations. They make great centerpieces and ornaments. I've also used them as place cards.

I tend to be drawn to Santa's...all different kinds. But mostly those that look homemade/crafty, ya know? And of course...I LOVE anything/everything the kids have made throughout the years!

Thanks for the giveaway! I'd love to read this! I really like the trains with the village under the tree. The sweetest decorations are the candycanes we hang on the tree. But for me, the best, most meaningful decoration is the Nativity set that we put out (minus baby Jesus until Christmas eve). brendem7@comcast.net

I have a special Harley Davidson ornament that my kids got me about 8 years ago, and I treasure it:) Thanks for the chance to win a copy of this awesome sounding book! I've had my eye on it for a while now!

My favorite holiday decoration is a worn out Santa figure that my sister painted for me. It's Santa laying back in his chair with his shoes off, and an empty toy sack and he's pooped from handing out all the toys.

I love Nutcrackers. That probably comes from the fact that I'm a big ballet fan and still try to see the Nutcracker ballet every year. I have a gorgeous one that I picked up in Germany many years ago, but it's in the Russian style so it seems really authentic.

My favorite is a little Hallmark Santa ornament that has a big round clear belly with chocolate chip cookies in it. I bought it for my daughter years ago.

Love the Sweetblood series... can't wait to read more about Charlotte and Trace.
ReplyDeleteMy fav holiday decoration is this wreath I made for my mom in elementary school. It's made out of felt and glitter hot glue. It's kind of falling apart, but she still puts it up every year:)

My favorite decoration is my Christmas tree lit. Even without the ornaments on it. Although I do have one super duper special ornament that stays out year round. It's the Dirty Dancing one Hallmark had out a few years ago of the final dance scene where they're doing the lift and it says "Nobody puts baby in the corner.." in Patrick Swayze's voice..(it says other things but that's the only one that really counts at this point, lol).
ReplyDeleteThank you for the giveaway!
