Elisabetta Gardelli thought she’d spend her days serving coffee and writing obits for the town paper until an unexpected opportunity results in her dream job as a journalist. Now, divorced and determined to make it on her own, Lissa is hired to do a series of interviews about entrepreneurs who’ve made their mark at an impressively young age.

First up? Wall Street mogul Trevor Dane — Lissa’s first love. Lissa hasn’t seen Trevor since he left the small town of Serendipity to earn his spot on the right side of the tracks. Ten years have passed but neither has really moved from their super-passionate teenage affair – or the heartbreak that followed. This reunion can be their second chance or it can provide much needed closure. It all depends on Trevor. Can he forgive Lissa or will the past continue to stand in their way?
Getting a second chance at love is the main theme in this short story by Carly Phillips that has us once again visiting the town of Serendipity. We meet the main character Lissa in the first book in the series and now it's her chance to tell her story. She reconnects with a past love that she never quite got over with. The same can be said for Trevor Dane as Lissa is the one that got away. They now have the opportunity to make up for lost time, but that's easier said than done when a child is involved. They both live different lives now and have to decide if they really want to become serious.

Although Lissa's character has a difficult side that we have seen in the 1st book, there's also a side to her that hopes for more in her life. She's actually strong willed as she has had to deal with much in her past as the result of getting pregnant at an early age. But she doesn't regret anything because her daughter is the most important part if her life and you can feel that importance through the writing.  Although we don't read a lot about Trevor in the 1st book, I felt I knew him pretty well by the end of the story. It's obvious that he has deep feelings for Lissa and I enjoyed reading them fall for each other again.

I'm giving Kismet a review of:
Photobucket

I felt that Kismet was extremely well written and enjoyable.  Sometimes when reading a novella I am unsatisfied and feel as if the storyline just wasn't enough. I did not feel that way at all while reading Kismet and it's because Carly Phillips did such a great job writing it.  It was interesting from start to finish and you can't help but love Lissa and Trevor after you're done reading it.
