DEMETRIUS—He’s the hulking, brooding warrior his fellow Guardians avoid. Too dark. Too damaged. And given his heritage, he knows it’s best to keep everyone at arm’s length.

Isadora is missing. The words pounded through his head like a frantic drumbeat. For her own protection, Demetrius had done all he could to avoid the fragile princess, his soul mate. And now she was gone—kidnapped. To get her back, he’ll have to go to the black place in his soul he’s always shunned. As daemons ravage the human realm and his loyalty to the Guardians is put to the ultimate test, Demetrius realizes that Isadora is stronger than anyone thought. And finally letting her into his heart may be the only way to save them both.
This is my first time reading a book in the Eternal Guardians series and it has a very interesting concept.  It has Greek Anthology which I absolutely love as well as paranormal elements in it.  The main characters in the series are all descendents of Greek heroes and they battle against evil to keep the portals between their world and the human world closed.  In Tempted a princess by the name of Isadora has been kidnapped.  At first it is thought that she may have just ran away like she has in the past, but clues soon lead to the realization that something more sinister has happened.  Everyone springs into action to track her down and find her and the one person that is least expected to care is the one that cares the most.  Demetrius is the Argonaut warrior that everyone likes to avoid.  He keeps to himself and gives off a don't mess with me vibe that even has his fellow warriors wanting to get out of his way when he's around.  His upbringing was one that he doesn't like to talk about and because of that there are some things that he has kept secret.  As much as he pretends to not like Isadora, he is anxious to find her and once he does they are sent through a portal to a land with strange creatures.  Demetrius must protect Isadora while battling himself for the desire that he has for her.

I love tortured heroes and Demetrius is one due to the fact that he just doesn't think that he's good enough for Isadora.  He tells her this and because she gets to see a different side of him, she thinks it's worth fighting for him.  He tries to push her away every chance he gets and she tries a different approach to get close to him.  She hugs him, that's all and before he knows it he's hugging her back.  He feels something when she is in his arms and even though he knows that she is his mate, he doesn't believe they can be together.  As much as he tries to hurt Isadora with words, she fights for her man and I love that she didn't give up so easily.

I'm giving Tempted by Elisabeth Naughton a rating of:
Photobucket

There was so much action in Tempted and I enjoyed reading the sword fighting as well all the magic that was used by the witches.  Demetrius and Isadora both had a hidden power within and I loved when they both realized just what they could do.  Like I said above, this is the 1st book in the series that I have read and I will definitely be going back to read the 1st 2 before the next book is released.
