I really wanted an excuse to show these covers again!
Perfect opportunity!
I figured since I'll be having my review of the 2nd book in Jaci Burton's Play-by-Play series Changing the Game today on the blog, that it would be fun to discuss sports. Well not really sports exactly. But how romance factors into it in the books that we read. So I thought it would be great to ask my buddy Danielle from Lush Book Reviews to give us her take on why she loves reading romance books that feature sports so much. She's always calling me about a new book that she has read and oh boy, has she read a lot of them! Take it away Danielle!
I have never been a big fan of Sports but put it together with romance and it becomes a win - win situation for me. My first sports romance book just happened to be by one of my favorite authors ever so I wanted to pick up her back list and it doing so, I got to read Slow Heat by Jill Shalvis. It was light, funny and gave you a great look into the world of baseball. But it didn’t stop there. I went on the kick of my life in trying to find some more amazing sports romance books by some really wonderful authors.
Not all sports romance books are light and funny but they can be intense and erotic too. After reading The Perfect Play by Jaci Burton I was in awe. I was on the search again for more and more of these amazing books, but soon I realized that not many are written with sports as the main subject. Which is a real shame! I like the sports world now. Will I watch a game on TV? More than likely not. But read more? Oh yes!!!!!!
The best part of these books is that the men are hot, into the game, the amazing tension that is brought to every story, and the happily ever after at the end. I love that it isn’t just limited to baseball and football. Oh yes ladies, you get a wide variety such as Hockey, NASCAR drivers, Rodeo men and Cage fighters. Now have I read some of these…well duuhh and to be honest I didn’t think I would enjoy Hockey and NASCAR. But the truth is I LOVED THEM!!
From reading the books, I truly have a new view on Sports and the behind the scenes. But let’s not forget at the end of the day it’s the romance that I get sucked deep into. These hard working men go through a lot and I don’t mean just physically but emotionally as well. How they strive to win the game and the heart of that special person who is willing to play for keeps.
If you haven’t given these books a chance, you don’t know what you are missing! The best part is you don’t even have to like sports to get into them. Heck, the romance will having you falling head over heels into each and every game because believe me they play for keeps. So to help people get into the game, I wanted to share the ones I have read and I hope you will give it ago. Happy Reading!

Danielle is awesome. She makes me giggle. But not when she clogs my twitter feed with 10000000 #FFs. Oh wait! She included me in one of them. Nevermind! :P
