Author Q&A: Ty Langston

PhotobucketI am so very excited to welcome Ty Langston to my blog today!  I "met" this author on Twitter and since then we have struck up a friendship of sorts.  We have realized that we like a lot of the same things and it's never a dull moment whenever we start chatting with one another.   I feel as if I've known her forever!

Welcome to Hanging With Bells Shell!

Thank you! It’s great to be here.

Now in case people are confused, Ty Langston is Shell's writing name. Why don't you tell us a little about yourself.

Well, I’ve been writing since I’m a child. I love anything that is arts or music related whether it be books, movies, dance. I used to dance in fact until my early twenties.

PhotobucketYour 1st book, By Sunset, was released last year. How exciting was it for you to get that published and I love the concept of Dragons Racing!

Thank you! It was very exciting. Its surreal to see something you wrote being published in a mass way. The feedback has been great and I’m working on By Moonlight, which is the 2nd book in the series as we speak. I left the last book at quite the cliffhanger and the second book literally picks up from the last part of the book. People thought By Sunset was crazy....By Moonlight is crazier. LOL!

PhotobucketYour 2nd book Decadent Dreams was released on 7/27! Yay! It's the 1st book in 'A Foreign Affair' series. Tell us what it's about.

The series is about a group of women from a fictional town in Upstate, New York, named Beth, Jessie and Kelly, who decide to go on this online dating site called ‘A Foreign Affair’ that deals strictly with men and women from other countries.

What’s different about this dating site is not only do they encourage dating, but also deal with mail order spouses. Decadent Dreams is Beth’s story and it’s about her inviting a man she has met on the site named Yuri, who is from Belarus, to New York City for a weekend.

Since your new series has different locales, what is one place you would love to visit?

It’s a toss-up between Belarus or Paris. Belarus is beautiful. I did quite a bit of research on it. The castles, like Mir? Stunning. A lot of history in that country.

Are you working on a new project now and what can we look forward to in the future from you?

Yes, I’m working on a short story for Lazy Day Publishing that will be included in an anthology, called “Indulgence” in Oct. I’m very excited about it, because this will be my first printed story. The story I’m working on is a paranormal, erotica called, ‘Coming Home.’

Time to have fun!
So now that we got the "work" part of the interview over with, let's have some fun and talk about some our favorite things! Music, movies, tv with a sprinkling of men in between! LOL! Here are some quick questions for you to answer.

Music
We are both OBSESSED over 80's rock!  So these may be a little hard for you to answer.

Favorite 80's band:  I have two. Bon Jovi and Winger. OMG, I could watch Kip all day shake his hips and play that bass. LOL

Favorite 80's singer:  Kip Winger. Most people who know me would think Jon Bon Jovi. But, actually Kip’s voice is amazing. Followed by Richie Sambora as a close second and JBJ third. LOL!
KIP WINGER!

OMG I was so in love with this man!
Movies
Favorite superhero in a movie:  Superman. Because, not only it he strong, but he shows vulnerability. Besides the whole kyptonite aspect, Superman’s love for the human race is amazing. In my opinion, Superman shows that regardless of race, religion or creed, we should help as many as possible in need.

Which movie are you looking forward to seeing in the future:  Superman-Man of Steel and ‘The Avengers’. I saw trailer for ‘The Avengers’ the other day. Squee!! LOL! I love Henry Cavill so much. I’ve heard people say he’s too short and that he’s not their ‘vision’ of Superman, but for me personally, I know he’s going to do great. He’s a great actor. He was fantastic in “The Tudors” as Charles Brandon and I adored him in “The Count of Monte Cristo.” I’m surprised he never got an Emmy nod for the 3rd season of “The Tudors” to be honest. He was that good in those battle scenes and there is a speech that he makes that broke my heart. I cry every time I watch that scene. (Loved him in The Tudors as well.  His character was so naughty at the beginning and I loved it. ;)

BTW, I adore Henry so much that in my Dragon Race’s series, my muse for Prince Julian of Kerrgan is in fact, Henry Cavill.

*swoon*

TV
Now let's talk about one of our favorite shows...Game of Thrones!  (*shouts*  WINTER IS COMING!)  I love discussing this show with you because our Boo's are in it!
 Jaime Lannister

Jon Snow

Robb Stark

Khal Drogo! DROGO! *screams in agony*
Photobucket
Have you read the books in the series yet?
OH LAWD....our boos!! LMAO!  Just the first one, I bought them all recently. I can’t wait to read the rest of them. My TBR pile is getting larger by the day.  I love Jamie, Jon and Robb to death. Everytime  I see Kit Harrington who plays Jon, I just want to start playing with his curls.  Drogo, I just love Jason.  Conan will be fantastic because he’s in it. LOL!

True Blood, fave character:
ALCIDE!!! followed by ERIC...Smile BTW, please let there be more scenes with Alcide, what is up with that?
I think you know who my favorite character is. Hehe!
HAHAHAHA. No I don’t think I do. (Just kidding)
Photobucket

SOA (Sons of Anarchy), fave character:  JAX.....being bad is so effing sexy...He’s hot. I love the new shorter hair he’s been sporting too.

Photobucket

Thanks to you and Penny chatting about WWE on Twitter, I am now addicted to watching it.  LOL! I am in lust over Randy Orton thanks to the two of you!
Those tats, the scruff and that body. That smile too. He kills me with that smile. I could go on and on about my love for Randy Orton.
Photobucket

But you have another love, JOMO!
Photobucket
John Morrison is sex on two legs. (LOL! ) I have to stop whatever I’m doing to watch him. He is that beautiful.

Photobucket
Tell us what it is about him that you love so much. Actually...after looking at this last pic, I think I know why.
Well,he got those abs that are like a freak of nature, but he’s got the hair. And he is a fantastic performer. He does parkour which is the art of movement, so he flips over things like chairs, countertops (there is video of him doing this everyone, no lie) and through hallways. But when I first started writing Mail Order Groom, over a year ago, (I actually started writing Mail Order Groom, before Decadent Dreams) he was my Nik. Nik, who you’ll meet in Decadent Dreams, is Yuri’s best friend. He is fiercely loyal, rich and quite handsome and will do some of the craziest things for the people he cares about. People will see that in the next book, Mail Order Groom.

This interview was so much fun!  Thank you for stopping by Shell and I wish you much success with your writing.
Thanks Bells!
