Q&A with Olivia Cunning and Giveaway!

I have the pleasure of welcoming the wonderful Olivia Cunning to the blog today!  She is the author of the Sinners On Tour series which is a fun series about the behind the scene goings of a rock star group.

Raised on hard rock music from the cradle, Olivia Cunning attended her first Styx concert at age six and instantly fell in love with live music. She discovered her second love, romantic fiction,as a teen—first, voraciously reading steamy romance novels and then penning her own. She currently lives in Nebraska.

Your Sinners On Tour series is a lot of fun. What made you want to write about rock stars and how they live their lives behind the scenes?

OC: Well, that’s easy. Rock stars are hot. I’ve been in lust with the majority of them since puberty. That has never changed. What has changed is I now recognize most rock stars are just normal guys who happen to be talented musicians, sharing their love of music with the masses. They’re still hot though. Creative and confident. I’m so there.

Your newest release, Rock Hard, is about Sed Lionheart the lead singer of the group. We get to see a different side of him in his book due to Jessica. What is about Jessica that makes Sed so vulnerable?

OC: Jessica is the only woman who has ever broken Sed’s heart. You’d think he could move on. Their big falling out happened two years ago. He’s famous, gorgeous, talented (both in the bedroom and out) and can have any woman he wants. Why bother with a woman who doesn’t think he’s her sole purpose for existing? That’s exactly why. She is different. She challenges him. Rattles him. Rocks his world. He’s not the type of man who falls in love easily, but once he’s found his match, he’ll go to the ends of the Earth for his woman. It takes a while for Jessica to recognize that vulnerability and the love in his heart, because he is so bad at expressing himself.

The single guys left in the group are Jace, Eric, and Trey. Whose book is next and when do you think it will be released? Inquiring minds want to know. (Danielle and I are praying that it's Jace)

OC: The way I’ve written the series arc, Jace is the next hero. You might have noticed him disappearing a lot in Rock Hard. Hmm, I wonder what he was up to. A woman in his life, perhaps? ;-) Or maybe he is a tomato smuggler. In order for Eric’s book to work, stuff that happens Jace’s book has to occur. And Trey is not ready for love yet. If you’ve read Backstage Pass, you can probably guess why. Things must happen in Jace’s and Eric’s book for Trey to find happiness. When will the next book be released? I wish I knew the answer to that. I’m more anxious for a set release date than any person on the planet, trust me! Once I have more information, I’ll be sure to update everyone!

Which character does your readers like the most and which one is your favorite?

OC: There is no cut and dry answer to this question. I’m a bit surprised that each of the band members has his own set of real-life fangirls. I suppose it depends on personal tastes. What is your idea man? Loving? Possessive? Tortured? Funny? Flirty? I did a poll on my facebook fan page and Brian is currently the most loved, but all the guys got a lot of votes. I also did a “which two Sinners would you want in your threesome” poll: the Jace and Trey combination got the most votes. My favorite guy changes with each book I write. I have to fall in love with them to make the heroine and reader fall in love with them. I was in love with Brian in Backstage Pass. When I wrote Rock Hard, I fell head over heels for Sed. Jace stole my heart when I wrote his book. I didn’t think Eric would win my eternal devotion, but he totally did. I’m working on Trey’s book now, I’m still in the lust phase with him. I’ll be ready to marry him any page now. I’m allowed to love them all, right?

Do you find yourself blushing as you are writing your sex scenes? They are so hotand I think some real life rock stars could take some pointers from you. *wink*

OC: Blushing? Not exactly. I admittedly get hot and bothered on a regular basis. I figure if the scene isn’t hot to me, it won’t be hot to readers either.

You have introduced some of the other members of another rock group Exodus End. One the member of the group, Dare, is Trey's brother. Please tell me that we
will get to learn more about Dare and his group. They seem just as interesting as
The Sinners!

OC: Dare has bit parts in most of the Sinners on Tour series. Some of his band members are in Jace’s book and they all have a major role in Trey’s book. So yes, you’ll get meet them. Exodus End is even more famous than Sinners is. They’re disgustingly rich and revered, but surprisingly down to Earth. I absolutely adore Dare. He’s an awesome big brother to Trey. After I’m finished with all the Sinners on Tour books, I hope to do a series about Exodus End’s world tour. We’ll have to see if that pans out though.
