DEADLY LIES

In book 1 of the series, Deadly Fear, Special Agent Samantha Kennedy lived through a horrifying ordeal when she was abducted by a serial killer. She has been slowly trying to rebuild her life with the support of her fellow agents of the SSD. The Serial Services Division is a special division of the CIA that specializes in tracking down serial killers. In order to get past the horror of what happened, Sam decides to walk into a bar one night and pick a random stranger to help her forget. She chooses Max Ridgeway and after getting what she needs, leaves him without telling her his name. After running into Sam at a party, he realizes that Sam used him for one night of pleasure, but he wants more. He can't seem to get Sam out of his mind. They both can't seem to escape an undeniable attraction to each other and they soon find themselves working side by side to try to solve the kidnapping of Max's brother by a madman.

Sam and Max had such a strong attraction to each other that they just couldn't seem to keep their hands of of one another. They soon began to realize that they have more in common than just great sex. They both had issues in their past that they have had to overcome to become the people that they are today. We also get the chance to see the other characters from the previous books take part in trying to track down the serial killer. I was so happy to see Special Agent Kenton Lake make an appearance. I loved how intense he was in his book, Deadly Heat, and found his concern for Sam to be very touching. He wanted her to know that he was there for her if she needed support and that made me like him even more.

I'm giving Deadly Lies 3.5 Bells!

Deadly Lies was filled with lots of intrigue and suspense. There were so many surprises and twists and turns, that this book left me on the edge of my seat waiting for what was going to happen next. I'm looking forward to seeing what cases the SSD will have to solve in the future. They are very good at what they do and Cynthia Eden does a wonderful job making the reader feel like they are right there solving the case with the agents.
