SHE TAKES THE PLUNGE.
Teal Williams is content with her career as a ship’s master mechanic—until Zane Cutter, the “Casanova of the Caribbean,” makes her an offer she can’t refuse: to climb on board with him for a real-life treasure hunt. Teal must help him dredge up a shipwrecked vessel containing an abundance of gold, silver, and emeralds—and she’ll claim part of the prize.
HE’S BLOWN OFF COURSE.
Zane needs a mechanic—not a lover—and Teal, who can also dive, is perfect for the job. So it suits him just fine that Teal is completely immune to his charms…or so he tells himself. But with a deadly enemy in their midst—one who’s silently edging closer—Zane and Teal sink into troubled waters. Trapped in the middle of a perilous sea, they have no one to turn to but each other as they face down a danger that runs unfathomably deep—and a passion that runs even deeper…

Undertow is book 1 in a new series called Cutter Cay that focuses on the Cutter brothers. They live on an island in the Caribbean and own a salvage business that focuses on shipwrecked boats. Undertow is Zane Cutter's book and he is always on the hunt for treasure. In Undertow he has found the mother load when it comes to shipwrecked boats. It's called the Vrijheid and he has been looking for it for years. Now that he has found it, he must assemble his team go to where it is located and dive to gather what they can from the ship. Zane is called Ace by his crew because he has had unbelievable luck when it comes to finding buried treasure. He also has another nickname, Casanova of the Caribbean, for his reputation when it comes to the ladies.
Teal Williams knows all about Zane's reputation. She grew up with Zane and his brothers and wants to stay as far away from Zane as she can. She's been gone from Cutter Cay for a while but is back to be the mechanic on Zane's boat. She's also back to visit her father who is very ill. He was the mechanic for Zane's boat and now wants his daughter to take his place. When Zane informs Teal that he wants her to go out to sea with him, she is not happy about it. Being around Zane makes her antsy. She eventually decides to go because the dive to the shipwrecked boat intrigues her and she is promised lots of money from the treasure if she could go. Her dad's medical bills are piling up and she feels that this will be a quick trip. She tells herself to stay as far away from Zane as she can get but that is easier said than done.
Zane and Teal butt heads many times throughout the book and this lead to lots of great tension throughout the book. Zane is completely irresistible and poor Teal has a hard time being around him because of his magnetism. She's had feelings for Zane for a long time and knows that they could never be together because he isn't the commitment kind of guy. Despite his reputation, Zane turns out to be a great guy and finds himself falling in love with Teal. Everyone around him could see what was happening and he is the last one to know of course. Zane's character really surprised me and I loved his interaction with Teal. He knows how to rub her the wrong way and as much as she was irritated by it, she loved the attention from him. I enjoyed his character so much that he is now on the Book Boyfriend list! (on left sidebar)
We also get the chance to meet the other Cutter brothers Nick and Logan. They work alongside Nick and are featured throughout the book. They each have their own books in this series and I can't wait to learn more about them.
I'm giving Undertow *4* Bells!
Undertow was full of action and suspense! Cherry Adair did such a great job making the reader feel as if they were part of the experience. I felt like I was right there diving into the water looking for the buried treasure with Zane and Teal.
Undertow is the first Cherry Adair book that I have read. I loved it so much that I can't wait to read her past and future releases. I hope they are just as exciting as Undertow!
